The BoneXpert Standalone Edition is not for clinical use in the USA, only for research. It is ideal for research studies or clinical trials, where large amounts of images have been collected. The images are placed on the local computer or server, and BoneXpert can then analyse all images in a directory in one batch and place the results in a text file, which can be imported e.g. in Excel for statistical analysis.
BoneXpert Standalone includes the following three features, which are not in BoneXpert Server US:
- The Bone Health Index, which is not in the U.S. version of BoneXpert Server for clinical use. The Bone Health Index is described here. A lot of research studies on the BHI have been published over the last 15 years, see this list of news.
- Tanner-Whitehouse bone age
- Chronological age range 0–21 y
